Can Palm regain the market they once ruled?

The new Palm WebOS platform is being touted as being a culmination of the company's mobile DNA for over a decade. This dates back to the time they introduced the very first Palm Pilot (1996) and to the very first PDA phone/communicator known as the Treo 180 (2002).

WebOS is supposed to have a slickness and ease of use that trumps their competition. For example, it will integrate your phone's addressbook with photos by pulling them from FaceBook, Flickr, etc. For simplicity, an integrated search screen will look through your email, addressbook, Google or apps on the phone.

Palm's new phone is being called the "PRE". The device is a slider and has a QWERTY keypad, but is also has a touchscreen! It charges by induction on a pedestal base without any electrical contacts. It will be running on EVDO and is exclusively available through Sprint.
