My day started horribly today. I totally missed out Sony's CEO, Sir Howard Stringer's keynote that started at 8.30am. Not only did I forget to set my alarm to get my butt out of bed in time, but I had to endure a delayed shuttle bus fiasco.
Turns out that Sony didn't really have anything new to announce anyways, but they did have Tom Hanks come on stage to help promote the upcoming movie "The Davinci Code." In past shows, I've seen George Lucas, and Kirsten Dunst in person.
Picture highlights of the day:

Dan Marino promoting for Samsung HDTV sets. Apparently, they have also signed up Troy Aikman, Steve Young and Boomer Esiason.

Microsoft's live presentation area was very cool. They made it appear seemless by extending the white wall around the show floor space. The green items are actually signs that are hung on that very same wall. That blue shadow surrounding the Windows display is actually projected onto the wall, giving it a unique 3D effect.

Yes, kawaiiiiiiiii! That's Diane Mizota formerly of G4TechTV. She was here to shoot a special for "InDigital" that can be downloaded from the home of Diggnation: http://revision3.com/indigital/ces2006/media

This is a Philips mirror with integrated LCD tv at the bottom. It's about 2 years old now. When the TV is off, there is enough of a mirror tint on the bottom to make it look like one continuous mirror. Note the widgets which display the weather and stock symbols. (yes, those are the original widgets from Konfabulator, which was once exclusively available on Macs.) Yahoo is demonstrating how high tech gadgets can be deployed in a "smart home."

Tons of people crowded around the Playstation3 demos. It's quite disappointing to find that the PS3 won't be ready until Xmas 2006.

This is the new W810 SonyEricsson Walkman cell phone/mp3 player/2megapixel digital camera in a more svelte looking black color. The previous model was in a too-trendy for business color of orange and white. Quad band unit which works over Edge network. Comes with 512mb memory stick Pro Duo, upgradeable to 2GB.

The Sony eReader device (which I think is pretty dumb) was introduced prior to the show, so it can't really be considered new.

Motorola H5 Miniblue Bluetooth Headset. It is super tiny, and is said that the microphone picks up your voice from your ear canal.

This Uniden home phone can make a bluetooth connection to your cellphone. Once established, you can make calls through your cellular service as if it was part of your home phone.
